Big Winds, bring down big trees on east side of Prince Rupert

While Prince Rupert may not have seen any wind warning's issued on Monday, such were the gusts overnight that a few more trees from a stand along Hays Cove Avenue have come to the ground, blocking the roadway just off of Frederick Street.

A stretch of Hays Cove Avenue between Frederick and Donald
is closed as city crews remove some fallen trees in the area

The sound of heavy machinery and chain saws is echoing around the east side neighbourhood as the clean up work begins, the City advising residents of the Road Closure earlier this morning.

The area of the fallen trees is the same stretch of cliffside where a windstorm in April 2018 brought down the first of batch of threes from the area.
