North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice is the latest of North Coast politicians to take to her social media platform, as she looks to offer assistance to Prince Rupert renters who are facing eviction on the east side of the city.
The MLA relaying her comments through her Facebook portal on Tuesday evening.
In her correspondence to those affected by renoviction issues at the Pinecrest Townhomes on Immanuel Street, Ms. Rice notes that she has requested more information from the new owners of the property in question, adding that as she awaits the details she is making herself available to tenants.
The North Coast MLA also outlines how she has contacted the Ministry of Housing, as well as local housing advocate Paul Legace from the Unemployment Action Centre to assist in helping the soon to be evicted to navigate the process ahead.

Towards that, a Public meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow evening, March 5th at 5PM at the Fisherman's Hall on Fraser Street where Mr. Legace will offer up background on the legal rights that the tenants have in the face of the renoviction situation.
As we noted on Monday, the renoviction expulsions come during the height of a bit of a local crisis when it comes to affordable accommodation in the community.
That as a number of previous housing options are now closed owing to their own renonvations, and there being little in the way of new housing projects started in the last six years, or other rental units currently available in the city to cover off such a large surge of those looking for a place to live.
Ms. Rice's comments on the situation make for the third of a series of observations from area politicians, with Mayor Lee Brain using his Facebook page on Friday to speak to the topic, while MP Taylor Bachrach also took note of the situation through his social media portal on Tuesday.

Why is mayor at a conference elsewhere. He is a full time mayor, on less he is on paid leave or leave of absence he should be at the meeting.
