CityWest to advise successful draw winners of their ticket to the movies this week

We are getting closer to Showtime at the Jim, as CityWest and the
City of Prince Rupert prepare to host a drive in movie night August 4th

50 car loads of movie fans will be heading to the Civic Centre parking lot next week, as CityWest continues with its planning for a Drive In Movie experience during these times of COVID, with the big event set for August 4th at the parking lot at the Recreation complex.

As we outlined earlier this month, CityWest and the City of Prince Rupert have teamed up to present the Pixar animated movie Onward, a selection that CityWest's Director of Marketing, Chris Armstrong notes offers the right tone for these challenging times.

“We picked the movie partly because of its title. We think ‘Onward’ is the right attitude as we continue to battle successfully through this pandemic. And, it’s a great movie for the family! ... “We know we can still have a good time while abiding by the boundaries of social distancing, and we’re proud to bring this experience to the community,”

The animated feature tells the story of two elves who live alongside centaurs, fairies and dragons, in a world where magic was once real. The elves go on a noble quest to rekindle a little bit of that magic, and learn something about themselves along the way.

The movie was released in February 2020, and grossed over $100 million worldwide.

With COVID related regulations limiting the number of people who can gather at any one time in one location, CityWest held a draw last week of all the entries that they had received during the last few weeks, those who will have a parking spot reserved for them will be advised over the next few days.

The cost of admission is a donation of cash or non-perishable items to the food bank.

Showtime for the August 4th Drive in experience will be sundown at around 9:30 PM
