This years annual review of BC Ferries will be a virtual experience, with the members of the Board of Directors of the BC Ferry Authority and BC Ferries inviting the public to their annual gathering set fo August 20th at 10 AM.
With capacity limited to only 49 people for the Grand Pacific Hotel location for the meeting, the annual review of the performance and financials for the Marine transportation service will also be available through a live stream online, though registration for the Webex teleconference is required.
Both those in attendance in Vancouver and viewing online will have the opportunity to submit comments and ask questions during the presentation.
In their notice of meeting BC Ferries and the Ferry Authority observes the following:
To attend the meeting virtually, please send an email with your registration request to agm@bcferries.com. *We will use your email address from this request to send you the Webex meeting notice.
As part of the August meeting, the Chairs of both Boards will address the meetings. The President & CEO, British Columbia Ferry Services Inc. will review the past year and present an outlook for the future.
As well, the Chief Financial Officer, British Columbia Ferry Services Inc. will review financial performance.
That CFO's presentation could be well worth taking in, that as recent media reports on the current state of the Ferry Service's financials make note of the challenges that BC Ferries are facing these days.
