An advisory listed at 3:30 this afternoon and tucked away on their Maintenance and Outages page, has CityWest advising customers of some potential outages this weekend as a third party infrastructure company does work on some damaged equipment in the Smithers area.
The notes to the CityWest page also note the following:
Wireless Internet shouldn't be affected.
CityWest outlines that the emergency repair work in the Bulkley Vally by the third party company is set for 1 AM on Saturday, which is when the potential outages may take place.
There is no indication as to how long they anticipate any outages may last.
Update: CityWest and The City of Prince Rupert added to the information on the pending outage, noting that it is likely to last up to 4 hours from 1 AM to 5AM.
Updates on the situation will be provided through the Maintenance and Outages page on the CityWest website.
Some past notes on CityWest themes can be reviewed here.
WHAT IS GOING ON? We were supposed to be getting a sea link to stop this from happening. Many communities other then Rupert are tied in. WHY ISN’T PRINCE RUPERT?
ReplyDeleteIt’s almost done. Be patient. Or, continue complaining about something you already feel entitled to despite it only recently being announced
DeleteThe complaint is the fact we are still not connected to the alternative supply of bandwidth. I am sure that was announced along time ago. The city should get a date it is finished.
