Work on Wal Mart side of Rupert Square reduces Parking options for area shoppers

Some extensive work is taking place at the Rupert Square
with BC Hydro since last week

With BC Hydro work mow on its second week on the Wal-Mart side of the Rupert Square,  parking opportunities at the downtown shopping centre are significantly reduced, with Mall Management advising patrons to use the Lower Lot on the Shoppers side of the Mall.

The work has been described by Mall Management as a Hydro conversion and with it comes a number excavation sites both along the wall of the Mall and out in the parking lot area at the Wal-Mart entrance.

The lack of cooperation from some patrons is making for some frustrated commentary on the Rupert Square Social media stream, with frequent advisories to avoid that part of the mall parking area seemingly going unheeded.
