The last month has seen a shift in the vessel moorages seen at the City owned Cow Bay Marina Facility on the Atlin Terminal Waterfront.
With the end of the itinerant cruising season, there is a growing volume of fishing boats pulling into the facility whether for a few days, or for longer stays.
The latest financial results for the Marina facility were shared at last weeks City Council session as part of the Variance Report that was included in the Consent Agenda of the Agenda for the night, a document which did not appear to generate much discussion by the Council membership.
When it came to revenue expectations the Marina had marked $282,255 to the end of August, their forecast for 2023 is revenues of $403,000.
On the expense side of the Cow Bay Marina ledger, the City had set a budget of $403,000 for 2023, as of August the spending on Marina elements was recorded at $277,320.
City Council approved an increase to the Marina Fees in April of this year.
At that time the report from Paul Venditelli, Manager of Transportation and Economic Development noted of a steady increase for marina usage over the last seven years, though data towards those notes were not included in the report.
While it makes for part of the variance report each month and on occasion spurs on some questions from Council members. The City Council collective has also not hosted a public presentation from Marina officials to update on the operations of the facility since 2018, that last prestentatio one when the plays for the Kayak float addition were introduced.
