Rampage double the score on Ice Demons to remain undefeated in young CIHL season

It was a successful trip down the road for the Prince Rupert Rampage on the weekend, with the Rhinos rolling into Tamitik arena in Kitimat to take a 4-2 victory over the Ice Demons, the game a pretty nasty affair through the first two periods of play.

The Rampage took an early 2-0 lead over their hosts with two goals midway through the first period, the markers going to Judd Repole on the power play at 7:31, the helper courtesy of Tyler Ostrom

Five minutes later Jared Meers was on the score sheet, assisted by Kory Movold and Judd Repole.

Kitimat closed the gap to one goal shortly after the Rampage goal tying things up early in the second period.

Jared Meers put the Rampage back in front at 9:05 min the middle frame with an unassisted marker.

Prince Rupert took the 3-2 lead into the dressing room at the end of two periods, adding an insurance marker midway through the final frame, the goal going to Colten Waldhaus, with assists to Hunter Johnson and Judd Repole.

Much of the first two periods was played on the power play with multiple penalty calls in both periods.

By the time of the final whistle the Rampage had served 22 minutes in the box, compared to the 32 minutes for the hometown Ice Demons.

Prince Rupert's Kieran Sharpe picked up his second win of the season in the nets in the contest.

787 fans took in the Kitimat contest, more than a few it would seem came from Prince Rupert as the Rampage noted post game.
