City of Prince Rupert launches search for Victim Services Program Worker

A career opportunity is now available with the Victim Services Office
of the city's RCMP detachment


A new year, has provided for a new career opportunity, with the posting of a Victim Services Worker with the City's RCMP detachment on Sixth Avenue West.

The position which was posted to the city website on January 31st, provides for a base salary of $25.00 per hour, with an additional 10 percent in lieu of vacation and benefits.

The successful applicant will report to the Victim Services Program Manager. the position features six key elements towards the deliver of services:

Emotional support and follow up support for as long as required; 

Police requested crisis response; 

Information on the status of the police investigation and the progress of the case through the court system; 

Providing information on how the criminal justice system works and court orientation for witnesses who may be able to testify; 

Assistance in completing Victim Impact Statements and in completing Crime Victim Assistance compensation forms; and 

Referral to appropriate social, legal, financial counseling and other services.

Qualified applicants ave until 4 PM on February 21st to deliver their resumes to the Human Resources Department at City Hall.
