Do or Die for Rampage as CIHL semi finals shift to Prince Rupert

Update: Prince Rupert won Game 2 by a score of 8-1, forcing a third and final game set for the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre Sunday afternoon at 1PM.

If the Prince Rupert Rampage want to knock off the Terrace River Kings to advance to the CIHL finals they will have to put together back to back wins starting tonight, following a 5-4 loss to the River Kings on Friday night.

The hard fought battle at the Terrace Ice Arena was indicative of the evenly matched line ups that both teams put on the ice, the score for the  most part similar to that which had been found from the last few months of the regular season.

With their win, the Terrace squad takes a 1-0 lead in the Best of three semis, with tonight's matchup at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre set for a 7 PM puck drop.

Should the Rampage bounce back from the close contest of Friday, game three will take place on Sunday with a 1PM start.

The Eastern Semi Final also gets back into action tonight, with the Williams Lake Stampeders in Quesnel for Game Two, the Kangaroos hold advantage in that series with a Game One victory in Williams Lake giving them two chances to put away the Stampeders.

This particular Saturday night surely guarantees that Prince Rupert is going to be the loudest community in the province, while the River Kings and Rampage take to the ice at 7 PM, down the hall at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre Kitkatla and Vancouver will be battling it out for the Seniors Championship of the All Native Basketball Tournament.

As the ebb and flow of both games go this evening there's every chance that you may just see the roof on the Complex begin to lift as fans of both hoops and puck share the same sporting environement at the same time.

With that in mind, those attending either event should be aware of the limited parking availability that may be found at the Civic Centre, perhaps making use of alternative options to make their way to and from the venue prior to tip off or puck drop.
