Wolf attack on dog this morning brings Conservation Officer Service to Port Edward

A reported wolf attack on a dog in Port Edward this morning has resulted in a call out for the Conservation Service which is in the community to follow up on the incident.

Earlier this week social media spread word of a rather large wolf being sighted in the community lingering near the tree line near the Jubilee Crescent area, with Port Ed residents urging their neighbours to remain vigilant.

In its February update for residents, the District also made note that there had been wolf sightings in the community and urged residents not to feed any wildlife.

As they continue their work in Port Edward, the BC Conservation Officer Service reminds residents to keep their dogs on leash and should anyone have any information or sightings to share to do so by calling 1-877-952-RAPP (7277)
