Winds sabotage another BC Ferry sailing between Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii
After a five days of cancelled sailings last week, things aren't improving much this one, with BC Ferries having cancelled their Prince Rupert to Haida Gwaii service today with sailings today and tomorrow now cancelled.
The 10 AM departure for Skidegate was taken off the departures listings earlier today, creating a string of cancellations to the service through to Tuesday, if not longer depending on the weather.
A Gale Warning has been in effect for Hecate Strait through the day and now into tonight and tomorrow, with Winds of up to 45 knots expected to diminish by Tuesday to Southwest 25
Seas are building to 5 metres overnight, though anticipated to diminish after midnight.
Passenger of BC Ferries can contact the ferry service at 1-888-223-3779 or follow their Service Notice Updates for the latest sailing schedule revisions.
