Online Zoom Information session for UBC's Indigenous Teacher program set for Thursday

For those thinking of a teaching career, the UBC Indigenous Teacher program is preparing for its next intake of students and an online Zoom session set for Thursday will provide more background on the 14 month program.

The features of the program include:

Bachelor of Education Degree with an Indigenous specialization 
Holistic support that nurtures identity, belonging, and wellbeing. 
A cohort model that creates community and support amongst NITEP students 
Courses and curricula enhanced through Indigenous perspectives including local Elders & knowledge keepers 
Support from Indigenous mentors and educators 
A traditional program with contemporary values that exemplifies how Indigeneity can be interwoven within mainstream post-secondary education

Thursday's Information session from 4 to 5:30 will be hosted by Dr. Jan Hare and Angela Wolfe, MEd who will provide background on the program and the requirements needed to qualify for participation in it.
