Charles Hays Secondary, Pacific Coast School added to SD52 list of potential COVID-19 exposure notices

Students, Staff, Parents and Guardians at Charles Hays Secondary School have received notification from School administration of a potential exposure for COVID-19, the advisory released today through the school's website and in correspondences for those attending the school.

The contact period for the Charles Hays advisory is that of this past Monday, February 8th, the correspondence of today holds the same advice that has been relayed through the last number of weeks for those potentially exposed, with a reminder to monitor your own health conditions, while Northern Health follows up with those identified as a close contact.

Also receiving notices on potential COVID exposures today were the students, staff, parents and guardians associated with Pacific Coast School at the downtown Ocean Centre campus, the information related to that advisory can be explored here.

The CHSS/PCS exposure notices join a list of four other schools from earlier this week at Prince Rupert schools and the Port Edward School.

SD52 administrators have also provided some background information for those students that may have been told to isolate at home, outlining the protocols in the District for those who have been referred for COVID-19 testing by Northern Health.

This weeks burst of reports, was the first significant increase in such adivisories since the first notices went out in mid January.

You can review the recent history of the COVID exposure alerts from our SD52 archive page.
