A little taste of winter arrives in Prince Rupert with some afternoon snow

Snow starts to stick in the downtown core

While the city may still be under a WIND WARNING, for the moment the primary concern may be navigating the streets as a bit of snow begins to accumulate just before the evening drive home.

The snow began to fall just before 3 PM and as Environment Canada notes, Prince Rupert could see 4 centimetres or more this evening before returning to a rain pattern and warming temperatures overnight.

For those who may be travelling to the east, the road conditions are mixed with some areas clear of snow, others finding accumulations starting to show.

Of note are a few stretches of Highway 16 between Prince Rupert and Terrace this afternoon.
