Fire cause of power outage along Ridley Island Access Road, affecting sections of Industrial area

BC Hydro crews are on site attending to a power outage along the Ridley Island Access road  that saw hydro go out shortly after 1 AM, the incident traced to a fire on a hydro pole locate midway between the industrial site and Highway 16.

There is no estimated time for the return of service listed on the BC Hydro website, which was last updated at 7:16 AM.

In a twitter  post from CBC's Daybreak's Carolina de Ryk, the radio show host notes that workers have not been able to leave the Ridley work area since 1 AM owing to the downed lines situation.
