Publisher, writer, Board Member ... City Council set to put Chris Armstrong to work at the Library

One thing seems certain, Chris Armstrong enjoys the written word and as of tonight, the publisher of Muskeg Press,  occasional writer himself and provider of a platform for a range of Prince Rupert's talented writers will also have a larger community task ahead, that with an appointment to the Board of the Prince Rupert Library.

As part of their work on the evening, City Council will confirm their decision from a previously closed meeting of Council to put Mr. Armstrong on the Board, filling a recently vacated position.

Armstrong is also Director of Sales and Marketing at Prince Rupert based CityWest, the telecommunication company which features the City of Prince Rupert as the sole shareholder.

The board consists of eight residents, who are appointed by the mayor and Council as well as one Council representative, who currently is City Councillor Nick Adey.

We contacted the newest Board member who noted that he was "honoured about the appointment, and looking forward to serve on the Board".

As we noted last week, should you wish to join the Library Board as a volunteer member, there is currently a call for members in place, posted last week by the City of Prince Rupert, the deadline to put forward your name is February 16th.
