Second opportunity for February to learn more about UBC's Indigenous teacher program

For those who may be considering a career in education, the UBC Indigenous Teacher program is offering another information session tomorrow afternoon to explore the program and opportunities that are available for graduates after the 14 month program is complete.

As we outlined earlier this month prior to the first information session , the program provides for a Bachelor of Education degree with an Indigenous specialization and through its cohort model has developed a course and curriculum that is enhanced by Indigenous perspective and calls upon the knowledge of local elders and knowledge keepers.

The program also makes use of regional field centres, including one in the Bella Coola area, administrators are always interested in hearing from other areas which may wish to host a field centre, that as they look to expand the footprint of the program across the province..

Further background on the program and the upcoming online information session can be found from the UBC website.
