Environment Canada makes it Official ... The arctic air is on its way

We probably don't need the official update to know it, but some cold air is here, and colder air is coming,  that as Environment Canada issues an Arctic Outflow Warning for the North Coast - Coastal sections, the weather agency making it official at 11:21 today.

The notice is a follow up to their Special Weather Statement from the Weekend that provided the first warning of the change in our conditions, which will see sunny skies but cold temperatures for the next few days at least, maybe longer.

The larger impact for those of us in Prince Rupert will be in the evening when the mercury will drop to -10 on Wednesday marking the coldest night of the week.

For those who had a chance to do some shovelling this morning, think of it as a training run for the end of the week, where we face a Friday, Saturday and Sunday of snow shovelling to come if the forecast holds true.

Just past The Tyee overpass the temperatures will be significantly colder with the Terrace/Kitimat set to see a constant temperature of -10 to -16 both day and night until later this week.

The further eastbound you go on Highway 16 the colder things get with lows of -27 for the Bulkley Lakes region the next few nights.
