Funding for Trinity Men's Recovery House will see treatment now more accessible

The Province of British Columbia will be offering a hand to those facing substance use challenges with a program for six publicly funded beds for Prince Rupert's Trinity Men's Recovery House.

In an announcement today, North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice outlined for the community that the Prince Rupert Recovery House will receive 900,000 dollars to convert six beds from private-pay to publicly funded beds, something that will make treatment in the city even more accessible.

“The difference that Trinity House can make in people’s lives can’t be overstated. It’s wonderful that this funding from the province will make the services they provide more accessible to more people, regardless of their ability to pay.” -- MLA Jennifer Rice

Willy Beaudry, the Executive Director of 333 Recovery Homes Society, hailed the news of the funding and outlined how it will assist with their program toward long term recovery.

“In the northwest, we have too few resources for long-term recovery for men in active addiction and homelessness—dads, fathers, husbands, needing a helping hand up. This grant is the best news for our society and region and will assist greatly in getting our guys back into the community, with families, into employment and in a lot of cases, their own places.”

The funding is part of 13 million dollars that the province has allocated since last fall to support more than 100 beds across British Columbia.
