The latest data release from the BC CDC provides a glimpse at the ebb and flow of recent COVID-19 reports for the Prince Rupert area, with the city's members increasing once again, this time by 37 case reports for the period of January 31 to February 6.
The local health authority data report on COVID cases was released this afternoon and would show that the reports of the coronavirus more than doubled from the week previous, marking much the same territory as was reported for January 17-23 when the city recorded 38 cases.
The Prince Rupert results come largely from the ongoing outbreaks at the Acropolis Manor which at last report had seen 12 residents pass away, with 31 residents and 20 staff members currently listed as having tested positive for COVID-19.
This week SD52 also relayed word of another string of potential exposure notices for four schools in the Prince Rupert School District, both reports could have an impact on the updated results due from the report for next week.
As it has been for much of the last six weeks, Terrace once again makes for the hot zone for COVID in the Northwest with 67 cases noted from January 31 to February 6.
The BC Centre for Disease shares data on a weekly basis culled from Local Health Authority reports, the other areas of the Northwest continued to show varied levels from region to region.

The Central Coast once again had no cases of COVID reported in the period.
