Rampage set to begin new CIHL season

In this era of yet another labour dispute in professional hockey, those needing a hockey fix need look no further than the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre Arena and the launch of the Prince Rupert Rampage hockey season.

The local entry in the nine team CIHL, will begin the 2012-13 season with an extended road trip owing to the Civic Centre Ice woes of last month.  At the time of the schedule makers efforts, the Civic Centre was going to be dark until late October, that of course may be about to change with the temporary fix to the ice making machinery, however that much desired news did not come in time to revise the schedule in a more friendly fashion for the Rampage.

So it is to the bus they go for the first part of October, with the Rampage not opening up their season at home until November 10th.

The opening game on the schedule takes the Rampage to Kitimat on October 6th, home of the CIHL champion Demons and a place where the Rupert squad always finds a hard battle.

The rest of the month doesn't get any easier for the Rampage either.

Rupert is the most western point on the CIHL map, and the Rampage will make their longest trek of the  year in the early going, when they travel to the Central Interior and Lac La Heche for a game with the Tomahawks on October 13, followed by a stop in Williams Lake on the 14th to take on the Stampeders.

Trips to Terrace and Kitimat on the 26th and 17th wrap up the month long road trip.
