The first full Regular Council session tonight will make for much work for the newly elected Council membership. With Mayor Pond and the six councillors set to address a range of items from regular civic governance housekeeping to potential changes to how the city views its infrastructure management and Operations
The final session of November and the second last Regular Council session for the year will see a number of reports up for review from Civic Departments among the key elements for the night reports from Operations, Finance, Planning and the Corporate Administrators office.
Requests for support for some community initiatives and approval of a loan process towards the recently completed McBride Street infrastructure work are on the to do list.
The night also takes care of a number of local government housekeeping items that mark the first days any new administration, among those are items related to signing authority, Board and committee appointments and approval of the Council Schedule and Acting Mayor's schedule for 2023/
The Committee of the Whole Session at 7PM prior to the regular Council session will also make for some interesting fare, with a presentation from a local community group seeking information on the city's plans for its water infrastructure on the list for presentations. Also part of the content for the Committee of the Whole Session is a report on the topic from the City's Director of operations and Intergovernmental Relations.
The Public will also have opportunity, it they wish, to ask questions or raise items of concern with the Council membership.
The lengthy volume of topics and potential for extensive discussion could bring us the longest council session for 2022 to Council Chambers so far this year.
Tonight's Council session starts at 7PM and can viewed by way of the Live Feed from the City Website, or on Cable Television from CityWest Cable Channel 10/310.
The session is normally posted to the City's YouTube archive within 24 hours of the session concluding.

The 5:00 PM meeting is closed to public for the two elements of the Community Charter cited below:
(c) Labour relations or other employee relations
(d) security of property of the local government
That meeting tonight marks the first Closed Session hosted by this newly elected Council; but it does make for the nineteenth of the year by the combined Councils to date.

Committee appointments . Council will announce appointments to the following Committees and Boards: Prince Rupert Port Authority, Prince Rupert Library, Board, Civic Awards and Recognition Working Group, Performing Arts Centre.
Appointments will also be made to the Healthy Communities Committee, Tourism Prince Rupert, Northwest Regional Advisory Committee and BC Ferries and Central Advisory Committee.
In addition to the appointments, City Council will announce that it will no longer make appointments to the Recreation Commission and will rescind the the City of Prince Rupert Recreation Commission Bylaw. (see Agenda package)
Report from the Corporate Administrator --Kaien Trails Society Request for Support -- Council will be asked to provide a letter of support to Kaien Trails towards their Cloudberry Trail project . (see page 31 of the Agenda package)
Report from the Corporate Administrator --Tourism Prince Rupert -- Council will be asked to provide a letter of support to Tourism Prince Rupert and their Northern Development initiative . (see page 34 of the Agenda package)

Bylaws
City of Prince Rupert Council Procedure Bylaw No. 3508-20222 --Council will be asked to provide first, second and third readings to the bylaw (see page 42 of the Agenda package)
City of Prince Rupert Trade or Business License Amendment Bylaw No. 3509, 2022 and City of Prince Rupert Ticket Information amendment Bylaw, Number 3510, 2022 -- Council will be asked to give First and Second readings to the Bylaw related to the two bylaws in question. The first pertains to the city's Business licensing amendments towards rental units, the second introduces the fine structure for first and subsequent offences of bylaws (see page 66 of the Agenda package)
The evening will come to an end with any Additional Items as well as Reports, Questions and Inquiries from Members of Council.
