Lax Kw'alaams Band launches survey towards cemetery plans

With plans to create a new cemetery for the community of Lax Kw'alaams moving forward, the Band Council and the design team from Lees and Associates are seeking more feedback from community members.

Towards that guidance from members, they are currently hosting an online survey to receive input on their initial design concepts and to learn more on how the new cemetery can support the culture, traditions and events of Lax Kw'alaams community members.

The survey only requires a few minutes of members time.

The consultation work comes following a pair of information sessions in January towards the plans.

The need for a new community cemetery comes as both of the cemeteries at Rinlayson and Rose Island have become at full capacity.

The new site proposed for the new one is along Tuck Inlet Road about 1 kilometre from the community.
