It's a milestone week for North Coast broadcaster Carolina de Ryk, the Daybreak North morning host making note through social media of the seventeenth year that she's been heard on radios in Prince Rupert and across northern British Columbia.
A faithful companion and information provider for many radio listeners in the Prince Rupert area, Ms. de Ryk has also become a key participant in community life over those seventeen years.
From host of numerous political debates and community information sessions, to her volunteer work with and support for the Prince Rupert Library to name a few areas of note.
The near two decades on the air in Prince Rupert have seen the Daybreak host cover all of the major stories of the region, as well as to feature some of the unique personalities and themes of our community.
The most recent project, one which we noted last week, is her work with Rudy Kelly on the 'Urbariginal' a six episode podcast now streaming on the CBC Podcast service and other podcast providers.
The CBC Broadcaster marked the celebratory date through a twitter post yesterday, you can check it out and offer up your congratulations through that portal.
