A Service Notice for the membership of Northern Savings provides an update on the delivery of Insurance services in the community at the Prince Rupert office on Third Avenue West.
In their advisory, Northern Savings notes that as of Monday June 26th, the Insurance side of the branch will be moving to a Monday to Friday operation.
Northern Savings notes that they have tracked a significant decline in the volume of insurance transactions on Saturdays in Prince Rupert.
They attribute that decline to a number of factors, including the majority of vehicle sales having moved to weekdays in the community, as well as ICBC's shift to online renewals.
The move should not be a surprise with fewer automobile dealerships in place in Prince Rupert compared to other northwest communities, the volume of sales on a Saturday likely is higher in points east.
Northern Savings outlines that the change in service hours in Prince Rupert will allow them to make the best use of their customer staffing and create the greatest value for the days that they are making the most transactions for customers.
