RCMP execute warrant under Controlled Drug and Substances Act at downtown Business establishment

The Prince Rupert RCMP have outlined the details to an investigation and warrant service from June 21st in the city's downtown core.

The warrant taken out under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act was enforced at an established at 230 Third Avenue West.

From their Statement today the RCMP noted the following:

The investigation is still ongoing, however, during the search evidence was found that supports charges of illicit drug production, illicit drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of prohibited weapons. 

Three individuals were arrested at the scene, and once the investigation is complete, the evidence will be forwarded to crown counsel for charge approval. This establishment has been the subject of public concern for some time. 

"The Prince Rupert RCMP are committed to proactively targeting drug trafficking activities, in the interest of reducing crime and the betterment of the City Prince Rupert RCMP A/Officer in Charge Sgt Gerald Walker said of the search, 

We still have work to do, but this is a step in the right direction."
