CityWest advises customers of work on routers this week

A notice for customers from the Head office for CityWest
in Prince Rupert has advised of some maintenance work required
for some customers related to their routers

Some customers of CityWest may find that their internet connection goes out for about five minutes, that as the Prince Rupert based communication company does some maintenance work towards the routers in our homes that deliver our connection to the world.

In an email  to customers on Monday, the communication company noted of a three day schedule towards the maintenance work that is required.

"We are aware of an issue that has started to affect some routers on our network. To fix these issues, we will be upgrading all potentially affected routers over the coming days.

This maintenance will cause your router to refresh, causing an outage of approximately 5 minutes. Please wait until your router has power cycled and come back online."

The maintenance work began on October 31st and should wrap up by the end of the day today.

CityWest notes that if your services are currently affected, this upgrade will fix your router and bring services back online.

If you are still experiencing issues with your services after the upgrade, you are asked to call CityWest at 1-800-442-8664.
