RCMP Advise of vehicle incident and Road Closure between Terrace and Prince Rupert (Road Now Reopened to Traffic)

Another vehicle incident on Highway 16 has closed the
highway between Prince Rupert and Terrace

 

Update: Drive BC advises that the incident has now been addressed and the road has been reopened to traffic between Prince Rupert and Terrace.

Another vehicle incident along Highway 16 has closed the Highway between Prince Rupert and Terrace this afternoon, with social media noting that it is reportedly related to a commercial truck on fire.

The Prince Rupert RCMP issued the advisory alerting motorists of the situation within the last hour.

Drive BC has identified the location as 25 kilometres east of Prince Rupert in an area between the Rainbow Avalanche Gates and the Telegraph Rest Area.

Estimated time of reopening is 6PM, with more to come at that time.
