Unsettled weather brings Higher rating for Avalanche Dangers on North Coast

The Risk is high for Avalanches in the Coastal Mountain ranges
into the weekend

A week of unsettled winter weather for the North Coast Coastal mountain ranges has once again moved the danger makers for Avalanche Canada, which has posted a Rating of High for the areas just east of Prince Rupert and through the Skeena and Nass Valleys.

The Thursday update provided the areas of note for those who may be considering travels into the Northwest backcountry this weekend.

The concerns for the region are focused on today and into Saturday with Alpine areas the more susceptible to Avalanche issues into the weekend. Avalanche Canada notes that conditions will still be Considerable through the weekend.

The next update is anticipated for later this afternoon.
