ANBT organizers to once again skip Fall Qualifying tournament, opt for direct entry to main tourney of February

While the All Native Basketball Tournament is still six months off to its February dates of 2024, organizers have made a significant announcement related to how this years tournament will be run.

With ANBT officials choosing once again to not host a Fall Qualifying tournament, instead allowing for Direct entry to the main event in 2024.

The cost of travel and other considerations was noted as the main areas of note towards following the lead of last year when the 2022 Qualifying event was cancelled.

The announcement released through the ANBT social media page, has also generated some discussion towards plans for the 2024 event

Among some of the areas for conversation, a few calls to create a Ladies Master's Division, compact the schedule to allow for more cost effective travels for those teams that fall out of the tourney early and have the ANBT host a Youth indigenous basketball camp in the city.

The 2024 Tournament will take place February 11-17th at the Russell Gamble Gymnasium and Arena at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

The OpeningCeremony is scheduled for Sunday, February 11th at 8PM
