Futon Street will remain closed to traffic through to August 28th |
The optimistic forecast from mid July of a short interruption to traffic flow on Fulton Street has faded over the last week or so and yesterday the City of Prince Rupert added to the Fulton story.
The City advising that the work that BC Hydro has taken on along one of the main entry points to the downtown core will keep the road closed until the end of the month.
The project began the week of July 10th, the early days ones which featured traffic control to allow for some flow of traffic in and out of the city's core.
Prior to Tuesday's update on the work, the most recent projection for the road closure was that of thirteen days starting July 21st
The extension of the road closure to the end of the month as is noted above, is to allow for paving of area from Third West to Fourth West that was the subject of the work.
BC Hydro is in the home stretch for its work along Fulton, however the road will remain closed until near end of August to allow for paving |
You can keep up with any updates towards the reopening of the street from the City's Social media stream.
