'Bargain' window for gas prices in Prince Rupert closed Tuesday morning

If you didn't take advantage of the range of gas prices available over the last week or so in Prince Rupert, you missed out on some savings.

Today three of the city's Gas stations have settled on the same price, while a fourth has shaved a few cents off the price at the pump.

The three setting the price at 1.79 this morning include Chevron, 7-11 Esso and the Hays Cove Petro Canada.

For those that may be in the area of the Industrial Park the Kaien Road Petro-Can has a price point of $1.75 today.

Just a few days ago, motorists with a sharp eye and an empty gas tank could find prices ranging from $1.59, $1.69 and $1.79

If the Highway 16 corridor is a guide, the prospect of higher prices seems likely as we close in on Labour Day.

The latest updates to the Gas Buddy website indicate that Terrace has a price point for a litre of gas ranging from $1.84 to $1.89, Kitimat is the same at $1.84 to $1.89, Smithers price range is $1.79 to  $1.85.

The price gets lower as you travel east, with Burns Lake listing prices today of $1.75, one station in Prince George is reporting a price point of $1.60 per litre.
