Driver shortage makes for cancelled runs for Prince Rupert Transit's Route 51

It's been a challenging summer for Prince Rupert Transit, from rerouting some of their transit routes owing to a range of road infrastructure woes, to finding the staff to keep the buses on the road, the city's transit service is doing what it can to keep travellers on the move.

Among this weeks' challenges, is a driver shortage that will impact the Tuesday afternoon schedule for Route 51 which serves the east side of the city from Seal Cove to the Downtown Core.

Keeping staffing levels current for the local transit operator has been challenging of late, with April providing for a mark of stability for a short period of 2023.

Out Port Edward way, ongoing road construction along Oceanview Road in the community has meant that there is a slight change to the routing of the Port Edward service.

Transit users in Prince Rupert and Port Edward can find out about daily service updates from the BC Transit Website.
