Tourism officials in Prince Rupert will return to a familiar space in September |
Prince Rupert's Tourism officials have been working out of a temporary home as part of the Lzx Süüla Container Marketplace, their kiosk adjacent to the Prince Rupert Cruise Terminal making for the first introduction to the region for visitors coming off of the cruise ships this season.
The move while one of necessity, worked out quite well for Tourism officials putting them into the heart of the Atlin Promenade and the large volume of visitors that came ashore during Cruise Ship Days, as well the kiosk served as a focal point for the marketplace.
The Visitors Centre has been out of the Atlin Terminal since February, delays along the way to the construction schedule for the Tourism space and the Port Interpretive Centre set back their return.
Once they reopen the doors and show off their news digs on September 1st, the hours for the month will be as follows:
Monday 9am-5pm
Tuesday 9am-5pm
Wednesday 9am-5pm
Thursday 9am-5pm
Friday 9am-5pm
Saturday 9am-5pm
Sunday CLOSED
They also plan to staff their kiosk that is part of the Container Marketplace.
September also brings a change for the Lax Süülda Container Market, with its hours to be scaled back as the summer season winds down.
The Lax Süülda Container Market hours will be adjusted as a result of the Visitor Centre reopening.
The Market, including the Visitor Information Container, will be open on cruise ship days only from September 1st to October 10th, the date of the final cruise call for the 2023 season.
Additional hours may be operated by individual vendors, and we may open the Market for events on a case-by-case basis.
