The National Museum of Scotland was the venue for the start of a Spiritual journey home for a piece of Nisga'a history, with a Wilps Ni’isjoohl Ceremony taking place as the Nisga'a delgation on hand begins their journey home.
The Nisga'a Lisims Government observed through their social media stream and website on Monday how Sacred and Important Nisga'a protocols had taken place at the Scottish Museum as the process of returning the pole back to the Nisga'a Nation began to get underway.
The historic pole was taken from the Nisga'a without consent in 1929, it had been on display at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh upon its arrival in Scotland.

A ceremony and feast to commemorate it's return to Nisga'a lands is planned for September 29th.
