City of Prince Rupert Seeks Bids on plans for Washroom renovations at First Avenue West Fire Hall

The City of Prince Rupert is set to improve on the facilities of the PRFD's First Avenue West Fire Hall, with a Request for Bids posted to the BC Bid website outlining the scope of work ahead on the washrooms at the Hall.

The prospectus for the work outlines the nature of what's expected for the washrooms which looking at the attached photos appear to be original to the facility's construction in 1959

The outline to the Bid Request also notes what the city hopes to see from the finished work.

The intention for the renovation is to create a new layout in this space, consisting of 2 self- contained rooms, each with floor-to-ceiling walls and a door, a toilet, sink, shower stall, exhaust fan and lighting. A mop sink in place of the current laundry sink is to be located in the common area outside of those rooms.

The Full Bid Request is available from the BC Bid website

The timeline for the bid has a closing date of March 15th, the Contract award to be released on March 22nd and the work to be completed by September 30th.

There is also a non-mandatory site inspection set for this Thursday for those interested in the project.

The required work on the Fire Hall was noted as part of the Fall Budget approval process.
