Metlakatla to host Community Meeting on Food Security Program February 22nd

Members of the Metlakatla First Nation will have two opportunities this month to learn more about the Community Food Security Program, with two information sessions planned for February 22nd one in Metlakatla, the other in Prince Rupert.

The first session in Metlaktla is set for 11 AM to 3PM in the Multipurpose Room with a lunch to be provided.

The second session in Prince Rupert takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 at the Nisga'a Hall with a Dinner to be provided.

Coordinators for the program are looking for input from community members to help shape a sustainable and inclusive program that will address the needs for the community.

The Agenda for the night will provide for an overview of what it is hoped to be achieved by the program development, along with the sharing of of insight from members of the food challenges and opportunities currently in place in the region.

The program managers will be gathering your insight into the issues and explore potential initiatives and projects that could come out of it.
