SD52 puts Five year contract for auditing service up for bid

Prince Rupert's School District 52 is looking for someone to conduct their annual auditing services, with the District posting their request for Proposals to the BC Bid website last week. 

The auditing services will cover a  five year fiscal period from July 1, 2020 through to June 30, 2025. Each audit must be completed by August 31st of each year.

Beyond the normal duties of an auditing service, the School District outlines some additional work required as part of the contract, they include:   

An audit of two selected schools each year in accordance with the Internal Audit Program for School Trust Accounts. 

The auditors may be required to provide, on a fee for service basis, recommendations to School District Management in the areas of accounting and payroll.

Key for those who have an interest in submitting a Bid will be some background on the firm including:

Profile of Your Firm -- state whether your firm is local, national or international • location of office that will do the audit and the number of professional staff employed at that office • briefly describe the range of activities performed by the local office 

Summary of Qualifications  -- identify the professional staff who will work on the audit including a brief resume of supervisory personnel to be assigned to the audit • briefly describe recent and similar audits performed providing names and telephone numbers of client references

Towards a review of the potential auditors, the School District has five elements for consideration:

Proposals will be evaluated taking into account: 

1) the experience of your firm in Public Sector accounting 

2) the qualifications of your firm 

3) the time frame 

4) the overall reasonableness and responsiveness of the proposal 

5) the price of the audit

The Deadline for submissions of interest in the contract is set for Monday, February 15th at 4PM.
