BC Ferries moves to add to connections for air travellers on Haida Gwaii gaining a mixed reaction from Islanders

Air Travellers in and out of Sandpit Airport are finding
some scheduling challenges for travel to Graham Island

Some additional transportation options for Service from Alliford Bay (Moresby Island) to Skidegate (Graham Island)   are gaining a mixed reaction from residents, that as BC Ferries tries to align service between the two Islands to work with a change to the Air Canada flight schedule out of Sandpit.

The transportation issues came with a shift to a later arrival time in Sandpit for the Air Canada Service with BC Ferries providing an update on their transportation plans at the end of October, with the addition of a foot passenger option for those looking to make their flight.

The BC Ferries option came following some commentary from both North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice and Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach who spoke to the issue in late October.

The North Coast MLA followed up on the BC Ferries announcement on Thursday, providing the link to her constituents to the new options from the Ferry Corporation.

However, judging by some of the commentary to her Social Media message, both BC Ferries and Air Canada may still have some fences to mend with travellers on Haida Gwaii who are venting some of their frustrations at the situation.

The work of Ms. Rice and other Northwest MLA's at the Legislature can be explored here.
