School District to host Two sessions on new B.C. education curriculum

With the Ministry of Education set to introduce a new curriculum for education in the Province, School District 52 is preparing to host two information sessions on the topic to provide parents and guardians with more background on the upcoming changes.

The School District has announced that there will be two sessions for the public taking place at Charles Hays Secondary School on Monday May 30th from 7 to 9 PM.

Session A will focus on the new Curriculum for Grades K to 9 with Suzanne Hoffman from the Langley School District leading the discussion on the changes from the past curriculum and the reasons behind the new shift.

Session B is hosted by Pat Horstead of the Ministry of Education who will offer further insight into the new curriculum that is planned for Grades 10 to 12, that curriculum change is scheduled to be introduced in September of 2017.

In September of 2015, the Ministry of Education outlined the partnership between teachers and the province in new training for the new curriculum.
