Lax Kw'alaams plans for future through Summer Student positions

The Lax Kw'alaams Business Development Office is making plans for the future of business development in the community and this summer is preparing the way with a summer student employment project to help collect data for future use.

The program offers two post secondary students the opportunity to help the office gather, analyze and report on a range of information collected on Education, Training and Employment around the North Coast Region.

The results from the data collection with help in future planning for training programs to prepare residents of Lax Kw'alaams for employment opportunities and to allow community residents to realize the benefits that may come from industry based agreements and partnerships.

The summer program is directed towards members of the Lax Kw'alaams First Nation and is focused on Full time students returning to College or University in the fall.

The deadline for applications is May 27th, with the program running through the summer from June until August.

The quest for the summer students is part of a renewed focus on Business Development for the Lax Kw'alaams Business Development Limited, the organization recently posted a Job Opportunity for an Executive Assistant.

A new website for the Business Development office is still in the development stage.
