Renters at Risk Program ready for those who need assistance in Prince Rupert region

With a rental crunch underway in the city, spurred on by a limited number of affordable units available for renters along with challenging economic times,  local residents at times can find much to stress about when it comes to ensuring that they have accommodation and can cover their expenses.

Towards some relief for those in need, the North Coast Transition Society has provided a reminder of a Program available locally called Renters At Risk. An initiative that helps those who are facing some of the challenges of our times.

In a note posted to their Facebook page earlier this month the NCTS outlined how the program can help.

Through the number of initiatives that they host, the North Coast Transition Society continues to be one of the most  passionate advocates for the homeless and those in a quest for affordable housing that there is in Prince Rupert.

You can review some of their programs here.

The lack of affordable housing has been identified as a major need in the community over the last few years, with City Council having recently taken note of some potential solutions they believe could be on the way, though a timeline for development of those options that may reduce the ongoing  pressures still seem a fair bit off in the future.

You can review some of the themes on housing in the region from our archive page here.

How City Council has addressed housing themes can be explored from our Council Discussion Archive.
