Prince Rupert Fire Rescue celebrates the Best of 2020



Spring is award season, whether it's movies, music, school achievement or Fire fighting and this April is the season for saluting excellence with the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department.

The PRFD has hailed the work of two of its members, with two social media posts making note of the awards for Firefighter of the year and that of Fire Officer of the year.

The awards were handed out last week, with Firefighter Tim Dopko receiving the award for Firefighter of the Year for 2020.

The Fire Service noting that Firefighter Dopko leads the department in dedication, integrity, passion and has gone above the call of duty throughout the year.

On the officer side of the fire truck, Captain Jon Bonneschranz was named as the Fire Officer of the Year for 2020.

The PRFD outlines that Captain Bonneschranz has provided the department with outstanding leadership, integrity, dedication to public service and contributions to the Fire service as a whole.
