Prince Rupert Fire fighters were called out to an upper level fire call on Fulton Street Sunday morning, with tenants of the apartments on the 500 block of Fulton for the most part roused by alarms and the banging on doors of their neighbours prior to the PRFD arrival.

The fire which was called in shortly before 9AM, originated in an upper apartment on the second floor of the two story complex which houses eleven suites at the corner of Fulton and Sixth, directly across from the Annunciation School playground.

There were no reports of any injuries from the fire which was quickly knocked down by the Fire Department.

Smoke still lingers in the air one day following the incident, while No details as to cause have been released by the Prince Rupert Fire Department to this point.

It was not clear as to the status of the tenants in the building following the wrap up to the PRFD work on the day.
