COVID and municipal government themes dominated the week, with four of our five most read stories focused on those topics.
News from Northern Health of a second outbreak of COVID 19 at Acropolis Manor started the week off, while the mid week review of Local Health Data from the BC CDC was also a much anticipated release of information, bringing a large audience to the blog for our items on Wednesday evening.
Two notes on municipal issues also found a strong readership this week, with the 11th Avenue East housing plans once again in the spotlight and plans moving quickly towards a Public Hearing on the city's Official Community Plan ambitions set for Monday.
Our look at a Chamber of Commerce hosted event featuring MLA Jennifer Rice and MP Taylor Bachrach also a fared well when it came to interest from our readers this week.
However, it was the latest of the challenges of COVID for Prince Rupert's Long Term Care facility which made for our most read item of the week.

With late notice, a lost opportunity for expanded consultation on proposed housing development for 11th Avenue East -- The Proponents of a housing development just off of 11th Avenue East at the foot of Edwards hosted a Zoom session this week on their plans for a seventy unit housing complex, though advance notice of the session seemed somewhat limited. Chamber to host Roundtable session today through Zoom on local issues -- Two of the regions more senior politicians participated in the latest Prince Rupert and District Chamber of Commerce online forum, with MLA Jennifer Rice and MP Taylor Bachrach on hand to address questions and concerns. A Public Hearing, one closed to the public, looms next week towards Official Community Plan and bylaw approval -- Prince Rupert City Council has plans to move forward towards adoption of their guiding document for future development, with a Public Hearing for the Official Community Plan set for Monday. The format having changed slightly from the original version outlined on Thursday. With residents now invited to participate by Zoom in the 5:30 PM session Monday, the event will also be live-streamed through the city's website. (posted April 9, 2021)
