Crypto Mining to come to Prince Rupert! Hosted in the Industrial Park and generated by power from Woodworth Lake

The HaysCoin could soon be the latest entry
to the growing options in crypto currency

A bold new venture will soon take shape in the Prince Rupert Industrial Park as the city moves ahead with a project that will harness the power of the new Woodworth Lake Dam to provide the vast amount of energy required for a crypto currency facility located on property on the city's Far East side industrial site.

Planning for the project to be known as HaysCoin has been in motion for over a year, and is set to move forward now with the prospect of the completion of the dam set for May. The hydro facility the focal point for what would be a unique civic venture, as the power supply currently not required by the BC Hydro grid at this time, can now be directed towards a local initiative.

Rerouting the stream of electricity to power the specialized computers that make for a crypto mining  facility to be built on city land just off Mish Aw Road, will ensure that the community has control over the development process and that the facility will meet the needs for a successful jump into the hot industry of the moment of crypto currency development.

In recent weeks, the potential for Crypto currency development in Canada has become somewhat of a talking point after Conservative Leadership candidate Pierre Poiliievre indicated that if he were to be elected Prime Minister he would like to see Canada become a leader in the field.

Leading the way in the bold new frontier of crypto currency has been the Central American nation of El Salvador which has adopted its Bitcoin efforts as a currency for the nation, that's a model that could be a blue print of sorts for Prince Rupert to offer, should the project planning move forward in a timely manner to create the required infrastructure.

Funding for the project will be through the creation of a new agency for the City, the Office of Crypto Resources which will work with Legacy Inc towards the initial investment in the millions of dollars required to put it all together. The majority of the expense to be put towards the required link from the Woodworth Dam to the Industrial park, as well as the significant amount of computer CPU requirements to be purchased for a successful mining operation.

Operations for the new department will require the hiring of additional civic staff, an employment call which will be routed through the Information Technology department and through the Make Prince Rupert Home project. All of which will coordinate the staffing protocols through the Office of Crypto Resources towards the Human Resources that will be needed for the Industrial park facility.

Opportunities may also be available for residents of the City to participate in a local network connected to the mining centre, that by way of accessing computers around the city to join in on the complex nature of how crypto currency is developed. Though any such consideration will require that home users have the top end speed potential for their computers that a soon to be introduced CityWest internet package will offer.  Slower speeds will work against the mining venture and won't be accepted for consideration.

Looking to mine the connection to the Charles M Hays legacy, the city is considering a partnership with the City of Melville, Saskatchewan, a community that the iconic name for Prince Rupert also has some resonance,  as it was one of the first places that the industrialist put down some roots. The opportunity to work with the Saskatchewan community would offer a chance to expand the HaysCoin brand across Western Canada and further to the east to the national financial centre of Toronto and eventually with a global vision for the  HaysCoin project.

Should all go well in the planning, residents of the North Coast and their new partners in Saskatchewan could be adding HaysCoin to their crypto wallets as early as one year from today, with the potential to use your HaysCoin finances for civic themes as utility taxes, property taxes and even parking tickets a possibility once the program is up and running. The prospectus for the project will soon be shared through all of the usual communication  sharing options from City Hall.

Note: we trust that no one invested to heavily in our crypto foolishness on this day for Fools, thanks for those that played along with us.

  2. This plan rates right up there with the CN Station / Wheelhouse deal. Unfortunately the Wheelhouse pub deal was not announced on April first.
