Port Edward Fire/Rescue celebrates and advocates for Equity

The Port Edward Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department took advantage of yesterday's International Women's Day to highlight the skills and bravery that women bring to the Fire profession, making use of their Social Media page to deliver their message on equity in the Fire Services.

The Port Edward Department also walks their talk as you will, the Service one which features a number of women serving the District and standing by for calls whenever they come in.

The Port Edward Training one that puts their members to the test regularly towards whatever Emergency situation may come along.

You can review their Social Media stream here to check out the work of their department.

More notes on Emergency Responders across the Northwest can be reviewed here.

  1. Are there any mentorship programs at the PR FD? Would be interesting to know the stats on females hired? Is it the 1 time only a female was hired and was this year 2022/23? I hope the FD does present to council many have questions lingering in the community.
