As civic convention season ramps up, NCLGA sends some paperwork for review

One of the growing list of organizations that the City of Prince Rupert has joined up with has forwarded some membership news for Council members to review at tonight's City Council session.

That as the North Central Local Government Association provides for a pair of documents for attention, prior to their upcoming convention later this Spring.

One correspondence notes of a proposed 2 percent increase in membership fees for the Association, increases that would take effect every second year between this and 2027/28

The other  is a summary of proposed changes to the NCLGA Bylaws and procedures that will be up for consideration at their upcoming Convention. That would see the annual fee rise from $160,00 to $163,000 for this year.

The two documents are part of the Consent Agenda for tonight, which means that Council members can just accept and file them without comment if they so desire.

The NCLGA will be hosting its annual Convention in Dawson Creek from May 9-12

Mayor Pond and City Council have not indicated to this point, how large a delegation that Prince Rupert may be planning to send to the fore day event in the Peace Country.

42 Municipalities and Regional Districts make for the membership of the Association.
