Skaters set to showcase their skills at Saturday Night Gala at Civic Centre

Showtime Beckons for the Prince Rupert Skating Club tomorrow
night with their annual Gala at 6PM

A season that started in the fall of 2022 and took Prince Rupert's Skating Club to competitions close and far away comes to a wrap on home ice this Saturday, with the city's talented class of skaters to showcase their skills.

This has been a week of rehearsals as the countdown to the show moved forward, the skaters at all levels putting the final bit of polish on their work before they showcase it for the crowd on Saturday.

The Big Beat of the Sixties will provide for the soundtrack of the night of Skating on the Jim Ciccone Cicvc Centre ice, with the doors opening at 5 PM and the Gala to start at 6.

Tickets can be picked up at the door for 10 dollars for adults, 5 for youngsters, those who are 3 and under get in for free.

While the young skaters will be the focus for the night, they are pretty excited about one special event as part of tomorrow night's show, that's when their coach Tamara Hummel Ward will perform a solo.

The special skate coming after some impressive fund raising by her students who blew past their goal to bring in 4,438 dollars and counting on the way to morrow's show.

The money that they've raised will be put boards equipment purchases for the PRSC program.

You can keep up with any last minute notes on the way to show time tomorrow at 6 PM from the Prince Rupert Figure Skating Club's Social Media page.
